1. Are your patterns beginner-friendly?
Each pattern is clearly labeled with a skill level-either Beginner, Confident Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced-so you’ll know what to expect before you start.
All patterns assume basic sewing skills and tools. You don’t need experience with dolls or toys. Tutorials are detailed with step-by-step instructions, photos, and some include video guides.

2. Do I need a sewing machine?
We recommend using a sewing machine for best results-all patterns are designed with that in mind. Hand sewing is possible (e.g. back stitch), but it's slower and more detailed.
3. Is seam allowance included?
Yes! Seam allowance is 1/4" (0.7 cm) and included in all machine-sewing patterns. Some hand-sewing or mini patterns may exclude seam allowance, but that is always noted in the item description. Patterns use both metric and imperial measurements.
4. What language are the patterns in?
All patterns are written in English only. You can use Google Translate to assist you. Feel free to contact us if you need help with specific terms.
5. Are the patterns digital or printed?
All our patterns are digital PDFs. You won't receive anything in the mail. You can download, print, and reprint at home whenever needed.
6. What format are the patterns in?
Patterns are provided in PDF format. You can open them using a free program like Adobe Acrobat Reader.
7. How do I print patterns correctly?
Please print at 100% scale (do not scale or fit-to-page). In every pattern, you will find a Test Square to check scale and print the rest of the pattern. Printing instructions are included with every pattern file to help ensure accuracy.
8. Do I need a special printer?
No special printer required. You can use any home printer.
9. How do I receive my pattern?
After purchase, you’ll get a download link on the confirmation screen and via email. Save the file to your device. If you can't find it, check your "Downloads" folder.
10. I bought a pattern and now I can’t find it anywhere-where should I look??
Please check your email inbox (including Promotions, Spam, or Junk folders) - your download link was sent automatically right after checkout.
If you don’t see it there, no problem - you can always go back to stellapatternstudio.com and access your pattern anytime. We save all your purchases for you ❤️
Here’s how to log in:
1.Click the little person icon in the top right corner of the site
2.Enter the same email address you used at checkout
3.You’ll get a 6-digit code by email—enter it to log in
4.Click “My Orders” and you’ll see all your patterns ready to download
11. What forms of payment do you accept?
We currently run our payment system through PayPal only.
12. Can I cancel or return my purchase?
Because this is a digital product, refunds or exchanges are not possible once the file is downloaded. If you made a mistake or need help, please contact us-we’ll always try to find a solution 💛
13. Can I share the pattern with someone else?
No, sharing, reselling, or distributing the pattern (digital or printed) is strictly not allowed. Each customer must purchase their own copy.
14. Can I sell finished items made from your patterns?
Yes, you can sell handmade items you create using our patterns. Please follow these rules:
- Make them by hand, no mass production.
- Sell directly to customers, no wholesale.
- Do not alter patterns to create new designs for resale.
- Please give credit: “Pattern by @stellapatternstudio” when posting online.
15. Can I modify the pattern?
Yes, small changes (face, colors, mixing parts) are allowed. But don't use the pattern to make a different design for sale. If sharing online, credit as: “Modified from a Stella Pattern Studio pattern”.
16. Can I use your patterns in workshops?
Yes, for in-person workshops only. Every student must purchase their own copy of the pattern. Please contact us first for workshop use. Online classes are not permitted without prior arrangement.
17. How should I care for finished toys?
Gently clean with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash, as it may damage materials and details.
18. Who is responsible for toy safety?
You are. As the maker, you're responsible for ensuring toys meet safety standards in your region, especially when selling or gifting to children.
